El príncipe Harry rompe en llanto al hablar de su esposa, Meghan Markle, y su pequeño Archie, durante una gala benéfica. 

El príncipe estaba en uno de los eventos más emotivos a los que asisten los duques de Sussex cada año, los WellChild Awards en los que premian a niños gravemente enfermos y a sus cuidadores. Harry y Markle ya estuvieron juntos el año pasado, y en aquella ocasión la duquesa ya se encontraba embarazada aunque no había hecho pública la noticia.

“El año pasado, cuando mi mujer y yo asistimos [a este evento], sabíamos que estábamos esperando a nuestro primer hijo. Nadie más lo sabía entonces, pero nosotros sí. Y recuerdo que…Recuerdo apretar la mano de Meghan con mucha fuerza durante los premios mientras los dos pensábamos en cómo sería ser padres algún día. Y sobre todo, lo que sería hacer todo lo posible para proteger y ayudar a nuestro hijo en el caso de que naciera con desafíos inmediatos o enfermara a lo largo del tiempo”, dijo muy emocionado y hasta dejando caer algunas lágrimas.

“Y ahora, como padres, estar aquí y hablar con todos vosotros me toca la fibra sensible de una forma que no podría haber entendido hasta que tuviera un hijo por mi cuenta”, añadió Harry.

This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the annual #WellChildAwards in London. WellChild aims to ensure every child and young person living with serious health needs has the best chance to thrive with the support and medical care needed in the comfort of their own home. The Duke of Sussex became Patron of WellChild in 2007, and last year both The Duke and Duchess attended the awards to honour the children and families that WellChild supports.
